Student Council is a representative organization of the student body. The purpose of the Student Council is to develop the students’ responsibility pertaining to citizenship, charity, fundraising, community and the betterment of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School (STA). The Student Council shall:

  • Bring about a closer understanding between the faculty and student body.
  • Listen to suggestions of the student body on measures aimed to introduce new ideas.
  • Stimulate loyalty and spirit toward the mission, standards and ideals of the school, by faithful observance of all regulations and outstanding cooperation in all activities.

The Student Council shall consist of seventh and eighth grade Executive Board Officers and sixth through eighth grade Class Representatives. Students who wish to be a candidate for the council shall:

  • Possess and display Christian behaviors. Student Council members with office referrals or behavioral detentions must receive permission from administration to run for (or remain in) office.
  • Be in good standing academically. Student Council members must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to be eligible for and remain in office.
  • Display strong interpersonal qualities and work ethic.
