The objective of our kindergarten through 5th grade program is to facilitate optimal learning for all students so they may achieve to their highest potential, be promoted in grade, and be prepared for Middle School. This is done through providing a structured yet nurturing environment that allows for academic, spiritual, social and physical growth.

There are two sections per grade each with one teacher and approximately 25 students. We have paraprofessionals who help support our classrooms.

Kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers are generalists and all instruction occurs in the homeroom. Students in 3rd through 5th grade enjoy switching classrooms for instruction from the teachers who specialize in core curriculum areas. Blended learning, by way of laptops and tablets, is incorporate into instruction for students in 3rd through 5th grade.

Students in kindergarten through 5th grade are required to complete studies in English, math, reading, religion, social studies, science and writing through a progressive grade-aligned curriculum that challenges each to excel academically. Students in the 2nd grade prepare for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. In addition, kindergarten through 5th grade students take art, music, physical education, library, and technology classes. Our PreK through 2nd grade students are able to attend our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium and starting in 3rd grade students take Spanish.

Students in kindergarten through 5th grade are offered opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities to support their development. Examples include reading and math clubs, scouting organizations, and art classes.
