Extraordinary Giving
The primary objective of Extraordinary Giving is to raise funds for unbudgeted "wants" (vs. budgeted "needs") and future operating costs. Extraordinary gifts are gifted in addition to, not in lieu of, ordinary gifts (tithe). Extraordinary giving is an extension of stewardship.
Matching Gifts
Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program, and some will even match spouses' and retirees' contributions? That's right! Simply by completing your company's matching gift form, you may be able to double the impact of your contribution to STA! Contributions of any amount help us remain a vibrant parish.
We appreciate you taking the time to see if your employer has a Matching Gift Program. Please ask your Human Resources department if and when they will participate.
For more information about employee matching gifts and employer matching grants, contact the Church Office at 316-683-6569.
Planned Giving
Planned Giving is a term used to describe a variety of giving vehicles that allow a donor to give to a charity while meeting current income needs and providing for heirs. Planned gifts are commonly determined in conjunction with estate planning, and they are viable gift options for donors of all income levels. St. Thomas Aquinas Church accepts the following types of planned gifts:
Bequests: A written statement in a donor's will directing that specific assets, or a percentage of the estate, will be transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at the donor's death.
Retirement Plans and IRAs: The naming of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church as the entire or partial beneficiary of retirement plan assets upon the owner's death.
Life Insurance: The naming of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy in which, upon the donor's death, the Church will receive all, or a portion of, the proceeds from the policy.
Charitable Gift Annuity: A contract between a donor and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church whereby the donor makes an irrevocable transfer of cash or property to the charity. In return for the contributed property, the Church agrees to pay a fixed amount of money each year for the lifetime of one or two individuals.

Endowment Gifts
What is an endowment?
An endowment fund is comprised of donated gifts that are invested to produce more income than the original gift. The gift's principal remains intact, while the interest earned on the gift can be distributed to the beneficiary.
Why does St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church need to build a strong Endowment Program?
To generate funds that will secure our future financial security as a supplement to stewardship of giving.
Why would a donor be interested in establishing his or her own endowment to St. Thomas?
Many individuals and families are interested in establishing endowments because:
- Endowment gifts can be designated for a specific purpose
- Endowment gifts support the intent of the donor
- Endowment gifts can be used as a way to permanently honor or memorialize an individual or family
Endowment gifts... never stop giving!
