Apostolates

Pillars of Stewardship

Hospitality * Prayer * Formation * Service

Through the Pillars of Stewardship—Hospitality, Prayer, Formation, and Service—each parishioner is invited to experience, witness, and live as a steward in response to his or her baptismal call to discipleship, to follow Jesus and imitate Him. Our parish groups, called Apostolates, provide opportunities for parishioners to serve as missionary disciples, to live the stewardship way of life, and to fulfill the priorities of the parish.

Hospitality

Jesus Christ teaches that whenever we welcome one of the least of our sisters and brothers, we welcome Christ Himself. Parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church seek to see the face of Christ in one another. We strive to build a welcoming community, ensuring a strong sense of belonging for all.

Prayer

Prayer disposes souls to receive God’s abundant graces, which are necessary to grow in holiness. It is through prayer that parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church nurture their personal relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As a stewardship parish, we strive to foster individual and shared prayer lives and promote reverent liturgical worship.

Formation

We focus on educating and enhancing the faith of our parishioners in accordance with four branches of the Catholic Catechism: beliefs, sacraments, morals, and prayer. We strive to promote growth in knowledge and faith and equip them to evangelize and share the Good News of Christ.

Service

Parishioners seek the parish family as a primary community to serve and to be served—to give and to receive. If a parishioner finds they can serve and be ministered to, they have little need to search elsewhere for this fulfillment. Likewise, they have recognized a place where their service is appreciated and utilized for the good of the Church. As missionary disciples, we strive to promote active participation in parish service and community outreach.

Extraordinary Giving

Spiritual Gifts Inventory

Based on the premises that every individual has useful and unique gifts necessary to the work of God in and through the Church, all gifts are precious, with one being no better than another, and that all gifts are needed in the life of the Church, this Spiritual Gifts Inventory was developed to help parishioners discover their own personal God-given talents as they engage in the process of complete discernment involving thought, discussion, and prayer.

The Spiritual Gifts Inventory consists of a total of 115 questions and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. In order for your own personal inventory of gifts to be generated with accuracy, each question must be answered. It is best to answer each question spontaneously but with humility and honesty, and please try to avoid answering questions as "undecided."

After you have answered each question, your own Personal Spiritual Gifts Inventory will be calculated. A list of areas in which you are gifted, along with correlating scripture readings and recommendations of Parish Apostolate Groups, will be automatically generated.

Your personal Spiritual Gifts Inventory will also be sent to parish stewardship staff, who may use the results to help you more fully engage in the life of the parish.
