St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is excited to announce the establishment of a new study group called “St. Thomas Aquinas Scholars” (Scholars). The Scholars study will be academic in nature. Participants will be asked to read from assigned text books prior to each meeting. The meetings will consist of deep discussion of the topic assigned, which will be facilitated by parishioners with theological knowledge who are well-versed in each subject and who have previous experience.
St. Thomas Aquinas Scholars will meet on Wednesday nights from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. in Allen. Hall. The first half of the semester will run from September 12 through October 31. The Glory of the Crusades by Steve Weidenkoff will be the text studied. A Woman Clothed with the Sun edited by John J. Delaney will be studied the second half of the semester, which will run from November 7 through December 19.
Text books and discussion guides will be available for a suggested donation of $10 each. The parish will subsidize the remainder of the cost of the participant materials. No one will be denied the opportunity to participate due to financial restrictions.
The registration deadline for St. Thomas Aquinas Scholars is August 24, due to the time it will take to order and receive text books. To register for the first half of the semester, The Glory of the Crusades study, and pay the $10 suggested donation, please click here.
