Research from Johns Hopkins states, "There is a strong correlation between learning to play chess and academic achievement."

Chess Club is a great opportunity for students to learn a new skill, have fun, and meet new friends. The Club is for beginner AND more advanced players.

Chess Club is available to students in grades 2-8. The first STA Chess Club meeting will be on Wednesday, September 5 in Allen Hall from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Students will meet outside of the school office after dismissal where they will walk to Allen Hall as a group. Dismissal will be in the circle drive. Latch key students will be walked to the cafeteria. If your student is interested in becoming a part of chess club, please complete an enrollment form. The form must be turned in before a student can attend.

A $5.00 donation for snacks is requested at the time of enrollment. Parents are asked to sign up to help with least two meetings during the year.
