College Students Care Packages

College students receive finals care packages at the time of first semester finals in early December. An encouraging letter from the pastor and gifts are mailed to students. Volunteers help gather, sort and mail the contents of the packages.

Church Cleaning

Church cleaning volunteers clean and care for the church on Friday afternoons or Saturdays to prepare it for Sunday Mass. The time necessary to complete tasks is approximately one hour. Families are welcome to participate.

Funeral dinner volunteers provide dinners for families following a funeral at STA. Volunteers serve on teams that take turns hosting the dinners.

The Good Samaritan Ministry encourages parish members to offer a helping hand to fellow parishioners in their time of need. Volunteers may be asked to run errands, prepare a meal or do light house cleaning

The Lord's Diner

The Lord's Diner ministry has our parish is in charge of supplying volunteers for food preparation, serving and clean up on the 30th day of every month at the Diner across from the Cathedral downtown. Meals are served 365 days a year to anyone who needs a meal—no questions asked. A food handler’s card is required to serve in this ministry, but easy to obtain. There is no charge for the course.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a project of Senior Services that delivers meals to homebound people every weekday. Weekend meal delivery is for those at high risk of being institutionalized and is done by community volunteers. STA does this for two consecutive weekends about every 4½ months. Please respond to the bulletin notice when you see the request for volunteers.

Mission Outreach

Mission Outreach Services provides financially for those in and outside of our parish community who are disadvantaged, suffering or in need. The Corporal Works of Mercy are used to guide the decision-making process. Volunteers attend a monthly meeting to discuss the distribution of donations.

Pro-Life & Social Justice Ministry

The Pro-Life and Social Justice Ministry works for the respect of all human life from conception to natural death. To support this mission we believe that prayer, church teaching, education, awareness of legislative issues, and outreach to organizations in the community are important. Volunteers can help with signature ad drives, voter registration, collections for mothers and children, outwardly praying to end abortion and similar activities.

Rosary Makers

Rosary makers gather to make corded rosaries for the missions and local area groups in the Assembly Room on Tuesdays following the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Several volunteers are needed to help keep up with the numerous requests.

SCRIP (Gift Cards) Program

The SCRIP program offers reloadable gift cards from various shops and chain stores. The parish receives a percentage of the total sold, which is used for projects not included in the budget of the parish and school. Volunteers sell gift cards for about 15 minutes before and after designated weekend Masses.

Special Needs Ministry

Volunteers are responsible for ensuring that our parish is handicap accessible for all disabled parishioners. This ministry provides transportation to Mass for the physically challenged, the elderly, and persons without transportation. Drivers are needed.
