Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place from 2:00 p.m. Sunday—6:00 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Nativity. Parishioners are encouraged to avail themselves of this opportunity for prayerful and quiet time before the Blessed Sacrament. It is a wonderful place to bring your intercessions.

Choir for 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass & Instrumentalists

The 10:30 am Mass Choir and Instrumentalists group focuses on traditional choral literature, including works by Palestrina, Bach, Handel and Mozart. Ability to read music is helpful, but not required. If you are interested in playing your instrument (trumpet, flute, violin, etc.) at Masses or on other occasions, your assistance would be most welcome.

Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Communion at Mass assist the Celebrant in distributing Communion. A devotion to the Eucharist is essential. Diocesan/Parish training and commissioning are required. More volunteers are needed for this ministry.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary meets weekly and is currently involved in visiting the sick in homes and in the hospital, taking communion to the homebound, coordinating transportation for parishioners to Mass and adoration. Membership is open to men and women of the parish with two kinds of membership available—active and auxiliary.

Liturgy of the Hours

Liturgy of the Hours, or the Divine Office, is the daily public prayer of the Church, that is, of Christ and his people. It is prayed at intervals throughout the day. Morning Prayer is prayed communally in the Chapel following the 6:30 a.m. weekday Mass.

Cantors proclaim in song the Responsorial Psalms and Gospel Acclamation and provide musical leadership to the congregation. Anyone interested in this apostolate is encouraged to become involved.

Mass Commentators assist the assembly in fully participating in weekend Masses by introducing the Mass, announcing the songs and reading the Prayers of the Faithful.

Mass Gift Bearers

Offertory Gift Bearers represent the congregation when bringing forward the gifts during Mass. This is a simple way to increase one's own participation in the liturgy.

Lectors proclaim the Word of God. These individuals should become familiar with the readings for Mass and convey a high regard for the Liturgy of the Word.

Mass Ushers

Ushers help maintain decorum and dignity during the celebration of the Mass. They have a special opportunity to convey a feeling of warmth and welcome to all who come to Mass. Ushers should come about 15 minutes early to seat people and stay a few minutes after Mass to check pews and the commons area.

Ministers of Consolation

The Ministry of Consolation consists of caring parish members who assist grieving parishioners by explaining options as they plan the funeral liturgy. In addition, members offer support and referrals to help in coping with loss as well as sponsor Evening Prayer for the Dead each November.

Traveling Statue for Vocations

The Traveling Statue for Vocations is taken into the homes of parishioners on a weekly rotation. Households who have the statue pray special prayers of intercession for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
