The purpose of Mission Outreach is to provide financial support to charitable organizations outside our parish community which serve the needy. Organizations and/or projects/programs which are funded by Mission Outreach must strive to further one of the Corporal Works of Mercy, which are feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, visiting the sick, visiting the imprisoned and consoling the bereaved.
Mission Outreach grants are funded by donations from the parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Although any non-profit organization can apply for a grant from Mission Outreach, Catholic and Christian organizations are given priority for funding. More than 90% of Mission Outreach grants benefit local charities. For information about grant requests and restrictions, please see the Mission Outreach Funding Application below.
In addition to providing financial support to non-profit organizations, Mission Outreach also coordinates an annual Coat & Blanket Drive and a School Supplies Drive. The in-kind donations generated from these efforts are gifted to local organizations which have a purpose of furthering one of the Corporal Works of Mercy.
Some local organizations which have received grants from Mission Outreach are A Better Choice, Center of Hope, Dirty Vagabond Ministries, Guadalupe Clinic, Harbor House, and several Catholic schools of the Diocese.
