Prayer disposes souls to receive God’s abundant graces, which are necessary to grow in holiness. It is through prayer that parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church nurture their personal relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  As a stewardship parish, we strive to nourish the souls of our parishioners through providing opportunities to enhance prayer life and liturgical worship for all ages.

Parishioners are given opportunities to give back to God through the following Parish Apostolate Groups which are aligned with the Prayer & Worship Pillar of Stewardship:

Vocalists are selected to provide musical leadership to the congregation during weekend Masses.  Cantors must be musically inclined and be able to proclaim the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel Acclamation in beautiful song.  Membership in one of the choirs is encouraged, but not required.

Vocal and instrumental musician volunteers provide a varied repertoire of  music, with an emphasis on contemporary Catholic composers.  Choir practice is on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Vocal music experience is not necessary for participation.

Volunteers lead the singing so as to enhance the full and active liturgical participation by all the people.  Musical style is based primarily on contemporary Catholic composers.  Ability to read music is helpful, but not required.  Instruments, such as guitar, flute, strings, etc. are most welcome.  Practice is held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Members are called upon to meet with grieving families to plan the Funeral Mass for their loved one, assist with planning and hosting the annual Evening Prayer for the Dead each November, and send condolence cards to grieving families.

Gift Bearers

Gift Bearers represent the congregation by bringing forward the gifts of bread and wine for the Offertory at each Mass.  Gift Bearers must be comfortable with processing down the main aisle of the church and commit to serving as assigned by the church office, which is typically once per month.
