Be the best Mom you can be, by being the best Wife you can be!
Wow! We are off to a great start to the new year, and our next meeting promises to be one to look forward to! We hope you will join us (maybe for the first time even!) on Wednesday, March 3rd as we welcome John and Mary Mertes. They are joining us to talk about the various stages of marriage, and how to love one another during good times and bad. Our "how to love him when you might not really like him very much" speakers!!! John and Mary have worked with couples in every phase of marriage as they started with Marriage Encounter in 1973, and began working with Retrovaille in the early 1990's. They also served as Directors for Marriage and Family Life for the Wichita Diocese for several years. They have 9 children. We look forward to having them visit with us and hope you will be there as well. |

On Wednesday, December 2nd, MOMs gathered in the Assembly room to decorate table top Christmas trees and fill stockings for the patrons of The Lord's Diner. With everyone's help, we were able to beautifully adorn 60 trees, and stuff 100 Christmas stockings! The trees will grace the dining room tables at The Lord's Diner, and be sent home with each family on Christmas Eve, to help bring the spirit of Christmas into their homes. The Christmas stockings will be distributed to all the children on Christmas Eve as well. Thank you to all who helped with this wonderful service project - it will bring smiles to many faces this blessed Christmas season!

The Evening on the Plaza was a great success again this year! Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the local business community and St. Thomas parishioners, we were able to make a sizable donation to The Lord's Diner and fund the MOMS group expenses throughout the school year. On Wednesday, November 18th, we presented Wendy Glick of The Lord's Diner with a check for $3,500. Thanks to everyone who supported this event by donating auction items, attending the event, bidding on auction items, donating food or drinks and time. We couldn't have done it without you!

On Wednesday, September 16th, Fr. Ben Sawyer spoke to us about ways to explain our Catholic faith to our children, and why we do what we do in Mass. It was informative, lighthearted and inspirational to all of us. We all enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Fr. Ben a little better, and learn more for ourselves about the Mass. Fr. Ben mentioned an educational tool in his talk, called MagnifiKid, which is published by the same people who put out Magnificat. If you are interested in this helpful tool for bringing the weekly readings, Gospel and church teachings into your home, please see the Links section to the left, for a quick link to the MagnifiKid website. Father Ben also provided an outline of his talk for us, highlighting many of the great points he made. Please see the documents section on the right for a link to his outline. Thank you Father Ben! |

Once again this year, M.O.M.S. sponsored a craft table at the Parish Picnic for the kids. We offered rock painting, coloring pages and sidewalk chalk to entertain all ages. It was a great success and a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who helped run the table during the picnic! |
