What is an endowment?
Donated gifts which are invested to produce more income that the original gift. The principal remains intact and a portion of the interest earned on the gift is distributed to the beneficiary on an annual basis.
Why does St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church need to build a strong Endowment Program?
- To generate funds that will secure our future financial security, in light of changing Parish and neighborhood demographics
- Endowment gifts produce ongoing income for the beneficiary forever! If need be, the Church and/or School could operate solely on income distributed from a strong endowment program!
Are there any endowments already established for the Church and/or School? Currently, the STACC Endowment Program includes six (6) endowment funds, four (4) of which were established by parishioners and two (2) of which were established by the Parish.
Why would a donor be interested in establishing his or her own endowment to the Church and/or School?
Many individuals and families are interested in establishing endowments because:
• Endowment gifts can be designated for a specific purpose • Endowment gifts support the intent of the donor • Endowment gifts can be used as a way to permanently honor or memorialize an individual or family and...
Endowment gifts...never stop giving!
