This will be my 35th year of teaching. Twenty-three of those years have been in the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. This is my 11th year at St. Thomas Aquinas. I attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. My degree is in Special Education/Elementary Education.
My husband Brian and I have been married for 30 years. We have two daughters. Our oldest daughter, Hollyn, teaches middle school math and religion at St. Patrick School in Wichita. Our youngest daughter, Chelsea, lives Frederick, Maryland and works as a middle school speech pathologist. We are members of St. Patrick parish and live in the Riverside area of Wichita.
In my leisure time, I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking and being with friends and family. I have a large extended family with whom I enjoy playing games and traveling. It always renews my spirit to be with those who make me laugh!
Welcome to the new school year! Those of us in the Learning Lab are preparing to help students work towards a successful school year. All of the Learning Lab teachers, tutors and staff are dedicated to their work with a variety of learners. We offer an MTSS tiered reading program, test taking strategies and support, provide small group support and allow Alphabetic Phonics (AP) tutors to work with students through a private contract with parents. All of us work together as we assist students and provide a positive school experience.
