Thankful for MobyMax!!

Congratulations to our top three finishers in our "Thankful for MobyMax" competition.  The goal was to complete as many minutes as possible during the month leading up to Thanksgiving.  Havily Vu, Braxton Bui, and Tommy Thompson were our top three finishers.  Havily and Braxton had quite the epic battle, both finished with over 24 hours of math time and only 15 minutes of separation between them.  Our latest contest, "Merry MobyMax!!" is already underway with students trying to complete as many topics as they can before December 20th.  Good luck to all.

Cereal to the Ceiling

A big shout out to Mr. Jones' homeroom.  The kids were challenged to bring enough boxes of cereal for the Flash Food Drive to create a stack that would reach the ceiling.  They brought enough cereal to easily reach the ceiling with many boxes to spare.  Thank you so much for your generosity.

Mrs. Armstrong's Biography

I was born in raised right here in Wichita. I attended grade school at Blessed Sacrament and high school at Kapaun Mt. Carmel where I had a fantastic gym teacher named....Ms. Sweet!

I am beginning my nineteenth year here at STA. After spending nine years teaching second grade, I made the trip downstairs to "the big kids" to teach fifth grade language arts.

My husband,Graham, and I have two children Cael and Averi who both attend STA. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, including my german shorthair pointer puppies, reading, exercising,  and K-State athletics.

Mrs. Bird's Biography

I am a graduate of STA, KMC, and ESU.  I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children.  The students at St. Thomas make each day entertaining and I cannot wait to see how the day will unfold each morning.  5th grade is quite an experience and I hope your child enjoys the school year - it's sure to be an adventure!  Welcome to 5th grade!

Mr. Jones- Biography

I am excited to begin my second year at St. Thomas Aquinas.  This also begins my eighteenth year of teaching in the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.  I spent 15 years teaching middle school math and science at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School.  That was followed by 2 years at Resurrection Catholic School, also teaching at the middle school level.  My first year at St. Thomas was an incredibly positive experience and I look forward to another great year.

I have spent most of my life in Wichita, moving here when I was 7 upon my father's retirement from the United States Air Force.  I am married to an amazing woman, Dannon, whom many of you know as Mrs. Jones, the STA school counselor.  We have 5 children, Alex and Treyton are grown and out on their own, while Zachary (9), Taylor (7), and Aiden (6) keep us very busy at home.  We are a family that enjoys the outdoors including camping and fishing as well as playing and watching all kinds of sports.
