During our recent food drive, Mr. Jones' class was challenged to bring enough boxes of cereal to reach the ceiling. They displayed tremendous generosity and achieved their goal with actually 2 stacks to the ceiling. Today we celebrated their achievement with what else...cereal!!!
OUR FIRST STACK!!!
Thank you so much for your abundant generosity during our recent food drive. St. Thomas 5th graders and their families donated almost 350 items to Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. A group of our students helped deliver the food and were able to begin putting the food onto the shelves. Stay tuned for more details regarding our next project.
Just a reminder, the 5th Grade Food Drive for Our Daily Bread Food Pantry ends this Friday (11/10). Mrs. Bird's class is focusing on soup, Mrs. Armstrong's class is collecting canned vegetables, and Mr. Jones' class is collecting cereal. We appreciate your generosity. The Parish Food Drive will continue through the following week.
We have just concluded our first MobyMax contest of the school year. The challenge for this contest was to complete as many Math minutes as possible and we had some kids who completed some serious minutes. The top 3 finishers in each math switch were recognized. I'm very proud of all the kids who went above and beyond their weekly requirement during this competition. Keep up the amazing work!!!
The top performer in the first math switch was Claire, who completed over 549 minutes (9.2 hours) of math. She was followed by Melanie and Charles.
In Switch 2, the top performer was Ava who was followed by Cindy and Matthew. Ava completed over 542 minutes (9 hours) of math.
The competition was extremely fierce in the third math switch with Giulio completing the most minutes, Kyle coming in a close second and Will not too far behind in third place. Giulio completed a total of 1531 minutes (25.5 hours) and Kyle totaled 1496 minutes (24.9 hours).
Just wanted to take a moment to welcome everyone back to St. Thomas. We are now 5 days into this new school year and definitely getting into the swing of things. The kids are doing a great job of learning the new routines and procedures of all their teachers. Thank you to all for your attendance at last night's Back to School program, it was great to meet so many of you. As always, never hesitate to stop by or send us an email if you have questions or concerns.
