Welcome! I am Carrie Moore and am starting my 25th year of teaching this year. Currently I am teaching 8th grade English, 8th literature, and several electives including 7th & 8th grade STA Raider yearbook. After teaching briefly in the high school, I decided to give middle school a try when my children attended here. To my surprise, I discovered and continue to appreciate, the "difficult joys" that make up the middle school experience.
My husband Jeff and I live in Kechi and are members of Resurrection parish. My interests include tailgating, football , reading and book club, dogs, walking, and sleeping. I can usually be found at K-State cheering on the Wildcats or exploring Kansas City and visiting our children and their spouses who live there.
Home away from home - I am Carrie Moore, starting of my 25th year (unbelievable) here at St. Thomas. While I started in the corporate world, my call for teaching still beckoned; eventually, I was approached to try giving middle school here at STA a chance, and so I thought I would give it a year or two. As is evident, I quickly became attached to the "difficult joys" that make up the middle school student experience, and my role in that journey with them.
My husband Jeff Moore and I have two grown children, Rhae Ann and Byron, who also attended STA and graduated Kapaun and K-state and who both now live in KC with their spouses. Jeff and I live in Kechi and are parishioners of Church of the Resurrection. We spend a lot of time in Manhattan, especially enjoying K-state football and tailgating, or we are in Kansas City our family exploring the city, rooting on Chiefs and the Royals, or enjoying one of the many excursions they have in store for us.
I am grateful for the many blessings in my life - not only family, friends, and these opportunities, but also for the wonderful community of St. Thomas. It is a good place to be.
