My name is Alan Winter and I teach seventh and eighth grade science at St. Thomas Aquinas for the spring 2017 semester. I also coach Science Olympiad and collaborate with the 8th Grade Culminating Project efforts.

My undergraduate degrees include a B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering from KSU (2011) as well as a B.A. in Philosophy from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis (2014). St. Thomas Aquinas said that faith and reason do not contradict one another since they both point to truth. I've experienced this firsthand in my studies, and I plan to share this with STA students this spring.

An Andale native, I have a farm background and appreciate a hands-on dimension to learning. When not teaching, I enjoy piano, philosophy & theology discussions, and ultimate frisbee. My confirmation saint is St. John the Evangelist, patron saint of loyalty.
